With a passion for learning and teaching, Elaine’s career as an educator for young children and adults began in 1998. Growing up as a Third Culture Kid, Elaine developed a deep empathy for second language learners which led to pursuing her Masters in TESOL with a focus on Early Childhood language acquisition.
Elaine is currently working as Head of Early Years, at a Qatar Foundation school in Doha. She is an IB Workshop Leader, Reader, and School Team Visitor and is currently pursuing her IB Leader Certification, as well as a Certificate in School Leadership and Management through Harvard University.
Elaine and her husband, Frank, have two grown sons, Joshua and Kaleb, who have enjoyed the experiences of a Third Culture Kid’s life in the US, Cameroon, Germany, Cambodia, Laos. Before that time, Elaine was honoured to experience the cultures of England UK and France. In addition to her mother tongue, English, Elaine communicates in Germany, French, Khmer and Lao languages.
