The Sustainability Compass helps schools and universities integrate sustainability more deeply into teaching, learning, and administration, in a whole-systems way. In fact, it is the foundation for our comprehensive programs offered to educational organizations, which we call Compass Education. Here are just a few examples:
- International schools, especially in Asia, use the Compass in the classroom and in school management. The Compass helps students bring sustainability thinking into practically any subject, from social studies to literature. Some schools have even begun identifying themselves as “Compass Schools.” (For more information about Compass Schools, click here)
- UNESCO has included the Sustainability Compass in some of own reference materials on Education for Sustainable Development, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program has included Compass in parts of its curriculum.
- University centers of expertise on sustainability have often used Compass as part of their programs.
